Shopify Platinum Partner Serving
Amsterdam, NLCustom Shopify and Shopify Plus development for Amsterdam brands — De Pijp, Jordaan, Zuidas, and beyond.

We are a certified Shopify Platinum Partner agency based in the United States, and we work with Amsterdam and Netherlands brands on custom development, headless commerce, ERP integration and platform migration.
We will be direct about fit. If you sell primarily to Dutch and EU customers, a local Shopify agency in the Netherlands is likely the better call. They know iDEAL, EU VAT and the European regulatory picture in their bones, and they are in your timezone. Where we are genuinely the right partner is when an Amsterdam brand is expanding into the United States and needs a development team that knows that market from the inside.
Projects start around $20,000. A typical build is 8 to 12 weeks.
Why Shopify businesses in Amsterdam choose SOLO MEDIA GROUP
Amsterdam pairs a fast-growing tech and fintech scene with strong design-led apparel, home goods, and specialty food and beverage brands. We build direct-to-consumer subscription and conversion rate optimization experiences for the city's cycling, coffee, and lifestyle labels, and we stand up B2B and wholesale portals with account-level pricing and ERP connections for the flower, food, and logistics businesses that run through the port and Schiphol. We also handle careful migrations from Magento and custom platforms with zero downtime, plus ADA and accessibility work for brands serving European markets.
SOLO MEDIA GROUP is a Shopify Platinum Partner with offices in New York, Miami, and Los Angeles, and we serve Amsterdam brands remotely. Our senior developers use AI-assisted workflows to move quickly, supporting everyone from mid-market to enterprise across the Netherlands.
We help direct-to-consumer brands grow by designing, building, and optimizing high-performing Shopify stores whether it's a full site redesign, a migration to Shopify, or ongoing conversion rate optimization and UX improvements.
We create seamless Shopify POS integrations that connect your online and in-store systems—so sales, inventory, and customer data all stay in sync.
We help brands launch and scale B2B on Shopify—customizing the experience for every buyer, from wholesale to trade and beyond.
Editorial storefronts, lookbooks, and variant/size UX built to convert.
Subscriptions, samples, and routine-based merchandising on Shopify.
High-volume catalogs, bundles, and direct-to-consumer + retail inventory sync.
Subscriptions, perishable logistics, and local pickup / POS.
Gated portals, account-level pricing, and ERP-connected ordering.
Unified online and in-store inventory, customers, and checkout.
Most Amsterdam brands do not need a US agency. Some do, and the difference is specific.
You are launching a US storefront. Entering the American market means a different set of problems than the ones your EU store already solved: US sales tax nexus across dozens of jurisdictions with different rules, domestic 3PL and fulfillment networks, carrier logic that quotes sensibly across a continent, and payment preferences that skew heavily toward cards and buy-now-pay-later rather than iDEAL. We build for that market every day.
You need North American timezone coverage. If a growing share of your revenue comes from US customers, having a development team awake during American business hours matters for launches, incidents and peak trading periods. Amsterdam is six hours ahead of New York. That gap works in your favour when the work happens while you sleep, and against you when you need someone at 3pm Eastern.
You want US market fluency, not just execution. Product presentation, merchandising conventions, promotional cadence and customer service expectations differ meaningfully between EU and US ecommerce. That is judgement built from working in the market, not something you can specify in a brief.
You are already operating multi-region. Multi-store, multi-currency Shopify Markets setups need someone who understands both sides of the Atlantic. We have built the North American half of exactly these architectures.
If none of those describe you, we will say so on the call and point you toward a Dutch agency. That is a better outcome for both of us than a mismatched engagement.
We are specific about fit because we would rather win the projects we are genuinely best at. For a Dutch brand entering the US, that is us. We know that market from the inside, and it is a harder launch than most European brands expect.Johnathan Solorzano, Founder
Whether you work with us or not, the same evaluation applies. The best Shopify agencies are not hard to identify once you know what to check.
Verify their standing in the Shopify Partner Directory. The Shopify Partner Program has five tiers, and merchants can see them in the directory. Tier is recalculated quarterly against commercial performance, so it reflects current activity rather than a badge earned years ago. It is a signal, not a guarantee: a smaller service provider with deep niche expertise can outperform a higher-tier agency on a specific project.
Look for technical depth over service breadth. Ask what they have built that was not a theme configuration. Custom discount logic through Shopify Functions, custom theme development, complex system integrations, headless architecture. Agencies that describe everything as Shopify solutions without naming the hard parts usually have not done them.
Ask about notable clients in your category. Not logos, outcomes. A consulting partner who can explain what changed for an enterprise Shopify brand in your vertical is worth more than one with a longer client list.
Check whether they will tell you no. The best signal in an evaluation is an agency that says a project is not right for them, or that a simpler fix beats a rebuild. That is the difference between a service provider and a partner.
Confirm what happens after launch. The first 90 days is where most of the meaningful optimization happens. Ask what ongoing support looks like and how customer satisfaction gets measured.
Expanding into the US market?
Our key services span Shopify development, ecommerce strategy and ongoing optimization for online stores selling across multiple regions.
A North American storefront built properly: sales tax configuration, domestic fulfillment integration, US carrier logic, and payment methods American shoppers actually use.
Custom themes and custom theme development built around real UX decisions rather than template configuration. Site speed and performance optimization included, because site performance drives conversion before it does anything else.
Headless Shopify builds on Hydrogen or Next.js where a theme genuinely cannot deliver what the business needs. We will tell you honestly when it cannot justify the cost, which is more often than most agencies admit. Our headless commerce guide sets out the full decision framework.
Account-level pricing, gated catalogs, quantity breaks and net terms with ERP integration, built for the trade, food and logistics businesses moving through the port and Schiphol. Seamless experiences for trade buyers, with pricing that matches how they actually order.
Middleware and custom apps connecting Shopify to ERP, inventory, 3PL and CRM systems, including the European technology stacks Dutch operations typically run on.
Shopify migration from Magento, WooCommerce, BigCommerce or a legacy platform, with complex data migration, redirect mapping and SEO preservation. A botched migration costs rankings that take months to recover. Our store redesign guide covers how we protect them.
Klaviyo email marketing and marketing automation, subscriptions on Recharge, Stay.ai, Skio or Ordergroove, and loyalty programs. Retention is where the return on a build usually shows up.
Shopify CRO built on customer feedback and analytics, with iterative improvements that lift revenue measurably rather than a launch-and-leave handoff. See what a CRO audit covers.
European Accessibility Act compliance for brands selling into the EU, and ADA compliance for the US storefront. These are different standards and they need to be handled separately.
We do not have an Amsterdam office. Our development team works from New York, Miami and Los Angeles.
In practice that means roughly two to three hours of live overlap with the Amsterdam working day, typically your afternoon and our morning. We schedule syncs inside that window and run everything else asynchronously through your project management tool, a shared Slack channel and transparent progress reporting, with a dedicated project manager throughout.
For brands whose customers are largely in the US, that timezone position is an advantage rather than a compromise: work lands while your market is awake. For brands whose customers are all in the Netherlands, it is a genuine friction, and a local agency will serve you better.
We would rather set that out plainly than let you discover it in week three.
Solo Media Group has been part of the Shopify Partner Program since 2018, and we work exclusively on the Shopify platform. No WordPress, no Magento, no general web development.
That focus is deliberate. The Shopify ecosystem moves quickly, and the difference between standard Shopify plans and enterprise Shopify shows up in the details: Shopify Functions, checkout extensibility, B2B, multi-store architecture. Knowing where those boundaries sit is what separates advanced Shopify work from theme configuration.
We have built for more than 500 merchants across DTC, retail and wholesale, from growing ecommerce businesses to enterprise brands. Our clients collectively generate over $500 million in annual revenue.
Tell us your revenue, your current platform, which markets you sell into, and what is actually not working. If a Dutch agency is the better fit, we will say so.

No. Our offices are in New York, Miami and Los Angeles, and we work with Netherlands brands remotely with a dedicated project manager and two to three hours of daily overlap with Amsterdam business hours. We're generally the right fit for Dutch brands expanding into the US market rather than those selling primarily within the EU.
Often, yes, and we'll tell you if we think so. Local Shopify Plus partners in the Netherlands know iDEAL, EU VAT and OSS reporting, and the European regulatory picture from daily practice, and they work in your timezone. Hire us when you're expanding into the United States and need a development team that knows that market from the inside.
Yes, this is our strongest use case for Dutch brands. It involves US sales tax nexus configuration, domestic 3PL and fulfillment integration, US carrier logic, and payment methods weighted toward cards and buy-now-pay-later rather than iDEAL. We also handle merchandising and product presentation conventions that differ from EU norms.
Yes. Shopify Markets configuration for multi-region selling, with market-appropriate pricing rather than raw currency conversion, correct language handling, and payment providers matched to each region.
Yes. The European Accessibility Act applies to ecommerce and is a separate standard from the US ADA, so a store selling into both markets needs both addressed. We audit against the relevant standard and remediate rather than installing an overlay widget, which regulators and courts have generally not accepted as compliance.
Shopify development, custom theme development, headless commerce, platform migration, ERP and system integrations, B2B portals, subscriptions and retention, and conversion rate optimization. We also offer strategic consulting for brands deciding between architectures before committing budget.
Yes — Solo Media Group serves Amsterdam, NL. We're a Shopify Plus & Platinum Partner agency that has designed, built, and scaled 500+ Shopify stores over 8 years, generating $500M+ in annual revenue for our clients. We work with Amsterdam brands remotely from New York, Miami and Los Angeles, with two to three hours of daily overlap with the Amsterdam working day and a dedicated project manager throughout.
Solo Media Group is a senior design and development studio for commerce brands. We design, build, and grow Shopify stores end to end — brand-led design, custom development and integrations, email and retention marketing, and ongoing support. One team handles strategy, design, engineering, and QA, so you're not stitching together multiple vendors.
We work with direct-to-consumer and retail-first brands across beauty, wellness, food and beverage, consumer packaged goods, and specialty retail — from new-brand launches to established businesses replatforming or scaling. We're especially strong with brands that sell across multiple channels (direct-to-consumer, retail, wholesale, and POS).
A dedicated senior team: a Shopify solution engineer for architecture, engineers for development and custom apps, e-commerce-focused designers, a Klaviyo/email specialist for retention, and a project lead who runs communication and keeps the work on schedule. You work with the same team throughout — no hand-offs to junior staff.
We run a proven four-phase design process in Figma: (1) Brand discovery — a brand exercise, asset collection, competitive landscape, and a mood board; (2) Concepts and mood boarding — early creative directions that establish the visual language, tone, and feel before full design; (3) Full site design — iterative design of every key page; (4) Handoff — final designs with engineering notes, then development.
Yes — Shopify and Shopify Plus are our core platform. We build custom themes, apps, and integrations, and we architect stores for performance, maintainability, and growth.
Standard Shopify fits most single-brand stores. Shopify Plus adds enterprise features and lets you run up to 10 storefronts ("expansion stores") under one organization — useful if you operate multiple brands, currencies, or regions. We'll recommend the right plan based on your structure; you purchase the Shopify license directly.
Yes. We build on editable, well-structured themes so your team can update content and pages without opening a development ticket for every change. We also provide documentation and a walkthrough at handoff.
Yes. We build custom middleware and apps connecting Shopify to ERP, inventory, 3PL and CRM systems, including the European technology stacks Dutch operations typically run on. Integrations are scoped up front so they're reliable and maintainable rather than fragile.
Yes. For brands with physical retail, we set up Shopify POS and keep inventory in sync between online and in-store, so both channels run off one source of truth.
Yes. We build B2B and wholesale experiences using Shopify Plus's native B2B features — gated portals, tax-exempt handling, customer-specific pricing, and automated renewals — often connected to your CRM.
Yes. We regularly migrate stores to Shopify from Magento / Adobe Commerce, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, OpenCart, and other platforms — including the design, data, and integration work required to run the new store.
Not if the migration is planned properly. We map redirects one-to-one, audit content on top-ranking pages before it moves, and preserve technical SEO foundations. In past replatforms we've migrated stores with no post-launch SEO dip. Rankings lost in a botched migration typically take months to recover.
Yes. We migrate products, variants/SKUs, customers, and order history, along with catalog structure, collections, and metafields. For large catalogs we confirm the exact data scope (for example, how much order history to bring over) during discovery.
A typical new build runs about 8–12 weeks from design kickoff to launch. Smaller, more focused builds can be 4–6 weeks. Migrations depend on data and integration complexity.
The biggest factor is how quickly feedback comes back from your side. With a single decision-maker and prompt, consolidated feedback each round, we move fast; with multiple stakeholders and longer review cycles, timelines extend. Custom integrations and data migration also affect scope.
When speed matters — for a retail debut or seasonal launch — we can compress the design phase and run multiple design teams in parallel across projects. Focused builds can launch in as little as 8 weeks with quick turnarounds on approvals.
Most design-and-build projects start around $20,000, quoted as a line-item estimate. Retainers start at 20-hour engagements or $3,000 per month for ongoing support and development.
Projects are billed against milestones — for example, a percentage on signing to begin design, at design approval, at development start, and at launch. Invoices are typically net 15. We agree on the schedule up front in the statement of work.
Both. Many engagements are fixed-scope projects; others are ongoing retainers for continuous design and development. Retainers start at 20-hour engagements or $3,000/month, and for brands with variable workloads we can combine project (tranche) billing with a small retainer to keep us on call.
Yes. If you have your own development team, we can provide design-only services and deliver production-ready Figma files for your engineers to build.
Yes. We integrate Klaviyo with your store and build core lifecycle flows — welcome, abandoned cart, browse abandonment, and post-purchase — plus campaigns and segmentation strategy.
Yes. If your sender reputation has suffered, we rebuild it methodically — for example, using high-engagement, protected sending to restore reputation before scaling campaigns again — and set up segmentation and win-back flows to improve retention.
Yes. We set up subscription programs on platforms like Stay.ai and ReCharge, and we can migrate subscription communications into Klaviyo for better segmentation. Subscriptions work well for routine- and regimen-based products to lock in recurring revenue.
Yes. We set up GA4, marketing pixels (Google, Meta, TikTok), product feeds for Google and Meta, and reviews that syndicate to Google Shopping and Facebook — so your tracking and ad infrastructure are ready at launch.
Every build goes through dedicated QA — cross-device and cross-browser testing, checkout and integration testing, and pre-launch bug fixing — before it ships. All work lives in version control, so changes are reviewed and reversible.
Yes. The first 90 days after launch are where most of the meaningful optimization happens, so we keep a support window on the original scope and then move to a retainer for ongoing support, performance monitoring and iterative improvements.
We adapt to your process. We work in your project management tool (such as Asana), share a Slack channel for real-time questions, hold weekly syncs, and provide transparent time and progress reporting so you always know where things stand.
